About MLSI
Monash Lung and Sleep Institute is a not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to research into respiratory disease and sleep disorders and provides both clinical and financial support to clinicians and scientists.
The institute aims to be a leader in the delivery of funding for high quality research into respiratory disease and physiology. The ultimate aim is to foster a research culture to ensure that researchers remain at the cutting edge of respiratory science.
Current research being conducted
Respiratory, chiefly asthma, COPD, lung infection, cystic fibrosis and lung physiology.
Sleep with emphasis on mild/moderate OSA, OSA phenotypes, insomnia and upper airway dysfunction.
Lung Cancer including unusual radiological findings.
Vocal Cord Dysfunction is of significant interest and links with severe asthma clinics in ML&S.
Several PhD students’ work is supported by MLSI.
